An essential element of the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) is the existence of a Protocol Review and Monitoring System (PRMS). The PRMS focuses specifically on the scientific merit, priorities and progress of the research being conducted at Hollings. 

At Hollings this system is comprised of two committees:
